Sustainability Summit 2014 will take place in Freiburg, Germany on October 13-14, 2014.

The Sustainability Summit 2014 links researchers and experts in the fields of engineering science, economic science, natural science and humanities to address the issues of sustainability. The collaboration of many disciplines will promote an inclusive and integrated approach to sustainability that, as per the 1987 Brundtland Report: meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The University of Freiburg and the Fraunhofer Institutes in Freiburg are pleased to invite you to two days of presentations on the following topics:

  • Energy Systems I – Energy Supply
  • Energy Systems II – CO2 neutral mobility
  • Energy Systems III – Storage
  • Natural Resources
  • Sustainable Materials
  • System Resilience

The University of Freiburg and the five Fraunhofer Institutes in Freiburg have agreed to join forces in the area of sustainability research by forming a new center for sustainability. The topics of the center are sustainable materials, energy systems, resilience engineering and ecological and societal transformation.

During the two-day conference, leading researchers in the sustainability fields will present and share their work. The conference offers an excellent opportunity to make new contacts in the field of sustainability, both with the researchers in Freiburg and the conference participants.
